All is quiet of the eastern front.

After the recent earthquakes we have decided to head up north and take a look around. There have been a number of minor earthquakes recently up the east coast which we believe is a direct result of a couple of baby stone giants trying to get home.

This occurred on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night and we want to help them! Unfortunately though there hasn't been an actual sighting of them recently. We are asking everyone to be vigilant and to look out for the tell tale signs. If you have anything, then please contact us straight away. We'll be in the area for the next week until Sunday 17th March.

Baby Stone Giants Trying to go Home

After receiving many e-mails from schools, sports clubs and the general public, here is an update of the most recent stone giant sighting.

Over last weekend it appears that St Michael's CofE Primary School in Braintree had a visitor (or two). Unfortunately, a couple of their classrooms were literally turned upside down but the children had great fun trying to discover what it was until they received out e-mail from a girl at Stanway Primary School. Obviously no-one was hurt, as this is not what stone giants do, but they did leave an awful mess behind!

There were then reports on Monday night of power cuts in the Braintree district which we believe to be caused by a couple of baby stone giants trying to get home. St Michael's School contacted us again to let us know that a mother stone giant had left them a message explaining that she had lost her two children and knew they had been nearby. She apologised for the damage and asked for help to track them down. The teachers there have since been leaving reports of sightings they have heard about via myself.

On Tuesday the 5th of March I received a call from Braintree Golf Club where it appears that the babies had made themselves at home in one of the sand bunkers. They had left huge rocks all along the golf course that had to be removed and they even found some footprints left behind.

The golf club then phoned around their partner sites and discovered that a similar issue occurred at the Thetford Golf Club (IP24 3NE) on the Tuesday night, but this time even more rocks had been left behind.

After these sightings and power cuts I began to search the internet for other signs of these pests, and pests they are. Even though they are generally friendly, they are extremely clumsy as a result of their size. If they start to run an earthquake would surely occur and this is exactly what happened... we believe the baby stone giants are trying to find their way home and are getting more confident. I discovered, via another website, people experiencing small earthquakes over Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night. These started near the last evidence left from a sighting in Thetford, leading up to Kings Lynn on Wednesday night, then again on Thursday night up the coast towards Skegness and then again last night up the coast to Grimsby.

We are sure these minor earthquakes are  the baby stone giants gathering speed as they gain more confidence of where they are going. Being the kind people we are, I am starting to contact the schools in the area to let them know of what has happened. It is an unfortunate fact that when stone giants get lost they generally head towards schools because they believe their parents will pick them up. While they wait, they build models of the mountains they come from and leave behind a great mess.

We will contact St Michael's School again to see if they have found any more evidence of the mother stone giant in the area and if they are able to get a message to her in any way in order to let her know where her babies have gone.

If any other person, school or organisation in the meanwhile has any contact, or would like to record a message for the schools near Grimsby, then please do contact me. Stay safe people... and don't worry.

Government and Laws

Stone giant clans are organized as a zygarchy - societies which are ruled by the eldest couple in the tribe. This couple doesn't have a particular title, and their immediate and extended family gains no special benefit from their relationship. Interestingly, the ruling position is seldom sought after or seen as desirable; the many responsibilities of the role are seen to greatly outweigh its benefits. The eldest couple is chosen for the role as their age is thought to bestow upon them the patience and wisdom needed to deal with family squabbles, ownership claims, and inter-clan relations.

Death

Stone giants are long lived, with an advanced reaching ages of up to 800 years old, and some elders living as much as 1000 years. The proper age of an elder is at minimum 600 years old. Juveniles become adults at age 90 (for women) and 120 (for males).

Stone giant dead are rarely buried in the ground. Instead, prominent stone giants are mummified and perched on top of high mountains, their remains guarded over by stone giant shamans. The mummy is richly adorned with furs, jewels, armor, and other such trappings of life. Less prominent stone giants are put to the pyre, buried under stone cairns, where the size of the cairn is indicative of the respect shown to the giant. "He'll leave a mountain!" is something said of a giant much loved by his tribesmen

Where do they live?

Stone giants typically live within the shelter of hollowed out mountains, excavated using the stone giants masterful knowledge of engineering and stone. Stone giant communities consist of living quarters, stables, sheds, workhouses, and barracks. Within the outer walls of the mountain are built large watchtowers, from which stone giant guards can observe the surrounding areas.

In the center of the community is the tribe's Great Cavern. This is the hub of the tribe's social network, hosting everything from marriages, funerals, victory dinners, retelling of tribal history, and religious ceremonies

What is a Rock Giant?

Well, for a start rock giants are known under many other names, stone giants, pebble giants, giants of the stone, keepers of the rock and many more. Here's a little bit that I was given when I first wanted to find out about them.

Stone giants are large humanoids with dark grey, leathery skin that grow to about 12 feet in height. They tend to be both impassive and aloof, preferring to live in solitude in hills, caves and mountains. Because of their skin colour they tend to blend in among their stony surroundings. Finally, unknown to all but the most intrepid scholar, stone giant elders possess the ability to speak with stones and can bind the earth to their bidding. They believe themselves to be the purest species of giant, from whom all other giants descend.
