Baby Stone Giants Trying to go Home

After receiving many e-mails from schools, sports clubs and the general public, here is an update of the most recent stone giant sighting.

Over last weekend it appears that St Michael's CofE Primary School in Braintree had a visitor (or two). Unfortunately, a couple of their classrooms were literally turned upside down but the children had great fun trying to discover what it was until they received out e-mail from a girl at Stanway Primary School. Obviously no-one was hurt, as this is not what stone giants do, but they did leave an awful mess behind!

There were then reports on Monday night of power cuts in the Braintree district which we believe to be caused by a couple of baby stone giants trying to get home. St Michael's School contacted us again to let us know that a mother stone giant had left them a message explaining that she had lost her two children and knew they had been nearby. She apologised for the damage and asked for help to track them down. The teachers there have since been leaving reports of sightings they have heard about via myself.

On Tuesday the 5th of March I received a call from Braintree Golf Club where it appears that the babies had made themselves at home in one of the sand bunkers. They had left huge rocks all along the golf course that had to be removed and they even found some footprints left behind.

The golf club then phoned around their partner sites and discovered that a similar issue occurred at the Thetford Golf Club (IP24 3NE) on the Tuesday night, but this time even more rocks had been left behind.

After these sightings and power cuts I began to search the internet for other signs of these pests, and pests they are. Even though they are generally friendly, they are extremely clumsy as a result of their size. If they start to run an earthquake would surely occur and this is exactly what happened... we believe the baby stone giants are trying to find their way home and are getting more confident. I discovered, via another website, people experiencing small earthquakes over Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night. These started near the last evidence left from a sighting in Thetford, leading up to Kings Lynn on Wednesday night, then again on Thursday night up the coast towards Skegness and then again last night up the coast to Grimsby.

We are sure these minor earthquakes are  the baby stone giants gathering speed as they gain more confidence of where they are going. Being the kind people we are, I am starting to contact the schools in the area to let them know of what has happened. It is an unfortunate fact that when stone giants get lost they generally head towards schools because they believe their parents will pick them up. While they wait, they build models of the mountains they come from and leave behind a great mess.

We will contact St Michael's School again to see if they have found any more evidence of the mother stone giant in the area and if they are able to get a message to her in any way in order to let her know where her babies have gone.

If any other person, school or organisation in the meanwhile has any contact, or would like to record a message for the schools near Grimsby, then please do contact me. Stay safe people... and don't worry.
